With the continuous improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength and the rapid development of higher education, more and more international students from all over the world choose to study in China. Alexander is from St. Petersburg, Russia. His Chinese name is Wang Yichen. He is currently studying for a doctorate at the School of Foreign Languages, Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Alexander said that his major is linguistic and cultural systematics, and his research direction is foreign language teaching methods, mainly focusing on how to teach Russian grammar to Chinese college students.
Alexander: In China, I can learn how to conduct experiments and analyze data. I find that the advantage of my research direction in our country is the theoretical part, but we are a bit lacking. Experience in conducting experiments and some tools for analyzing data need to be improved. In order to learn this, I chose China because I had read some articles before and found that you are very strong in this area, so I felt that I would learn very useful knowledge here.
Alexander said that Chinese universities have a good learning atmosphere and Chinese teachers are generally serious and responsible. Alexander gets along very well with his teachers and classmates, and he cherishes his time studying abroad in China.
Alexander: Now I think the learning atmosphere at SJTU is very good. In addition to these, our teachers are very experienced. My mentor has always supported me and encouraged me, so I have a very good relationship with him, which I think is very important. Those counselors and teachers have a very good attitude towards all international students, so I think this is a very important condition for every international student, and we cherish these very much.
In 2018 and 2019, Alexander traveled to Shanghai, Chengdu, Quanzhou and other places, and then came to China to study. He has visited many cities in China and fully felt the steady development of China’s economy and society.
Alexander: I think China’s economic and scientific fields have developed very obviously, and they are also developing very fast. Every time I go to China, I will I wonder why there are so many changes. Especially if you go to some big cities, such as Shanghai and Shenzhen. To give a simple example, there is no need to say “everything has a first time” in China. If you want to bring cash, you can pay with your mobile phone. If I get sick, I go to the hospital for a physical examination, and it takes about an hour or two at most before the results come out. I think this is very fast. Of course there are many other aspects as well, which really surprised me. I have been to many other countries, but have never encountered anything like this.
While studying in China, Alexander often paid attention to the news and communicated with friends around him about the development of Chinese society. He discovered that cars produced in China are currently in Russia. It is very marketable, the quality is trustworthy, and it has good sales prospects.
Alexander: Recently, Chinese cars have become very popular products in the Russian market. Now there are at least 5 Chinese car brands (in Russia ) is very popular. Russian customers often compare European and Chinese car brands and choose Chinese ones. why is it like this? Because the quality of Chinese cars is particularly good. Nowadays, the products made in China are of high quality and at very good prices. They should buy Chinese cars for these reasons.
