Recently, the Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance’s “Silk Road Dialogue” event was held in Istanbul, Turkey. The event was co-sponsored by the China-Chinese-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center and the Istanbul Municipal Government in Turkey. It was the first event held abroad since the establishment of the alliance. The event centered on the theme of “Deepening dialogue among civilizations and carrying forward the spirit of the Silk Road; walking the Silk Road and finding the meaning of travel”, and explored the tourism value of countries and regions along the Silk Road through keynote speeches, salon dialogues and other methods. Guests from many countries, scholars and representatives from many international tourist cities attended the event.

Peter Simon, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Travel Association, believes that the Silk Road spirit should be carried forward, the inclusive and sustainable development of the tourism industry should be promoted, and a better future should be created.

Turkish cities joining the Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance will further explore the huge tourism cooperation between China and Turkey. Potential, promote both sides in each field. Exchanges and cooperation in the field have achieved more substantive results and achieved mutual benefit and win-win results for China and Turkey in jointly building the “Belt and Road”.
